Are you a fan of ’Your Name’ or ’Kimi no Na wa’ in Japanese? Would you love to visit some of the real life locations in Tokyo that are showcased in the anime? Then look no further than this tour! We will take a journey across Tokyo to see where fiction and reality seamlessly blend so that you can feel closer to the world of ’Your Name’. Not only will you visit a number of the famous anime locations, but you will also stop at a number of Tokyo hotspots and attractions, so that you can make the most of your time exploring Tokyo!
On this tour many of the locations are featured that brought Taki and Mitsuha’s story to life, we will journey through the streets of vibrant Shinjuku and Harajuku, elegant Roppongi, visit peaceful shrines and take in the amazing cityscape of the bustling Tokyo. You will truly experience Tokyo through the lens of a local and one of anime’s most beloved films. Whether you’re a devoted fan or a curious explorer, this is a great opportunity to discover the city of Tokyo!

DESCRIPTION
The tour will begin at 9.30am outside of Shinjuku station where you will meet your tour guide. You will meet outside of Shinjuku station’s SOUTH GATE BASKIN ROBBINS shop. Once everybody has arrived, you will officially start the tour. Your guide will pass out Suica cards that you will use for the trains on the tour. We will board the train from Shinjuku and the journey will take approximately 5 minutes. This will be your first ’Your Name’ based location! This area is the iconic location where Taki waits for Mitsuha! We will walk onto the pedestrian walkway where your guide can take photos of you! You can also enjoy views of the NTT Docomo Yoyogi Building from here that also features in the film!
Next, we will travel on the train from Shinanomachi station to our next destination. The journey will take approximately 2 minutes. This will be your second ‘Your Name’ based location! This area in ’Your Name’ is featured in various scenes throughout the film, with the footbridge outside of the station being the most famous. It is where Taki and Okudera-senpai meet!
For our next stop, we will visit the most popular and famous ’Your Name’ location, a beautiful Shrine and its iconic red stairs! The staircase leading up to the shrine is the setting for the emotional scene where Taki and Mitsuha finally reunite after years of not seeing each other. As a result, this emotional scene and the staircase have become a pop culture phenomenon for fans! Your guide will happily take all your photos in the area, as well as provide a brief tour of the shrine. At the shrine, visitors can buy special ’’Your Name’ Ema or wooden tablets that you can keep or write a wish on and tie at the shrine. You can also buy ’Your Name’ bookmarks showcasing the staircase artwork from the film, the perfect souvenir for reading all your manga!
After visiting the shrine, your tour guide will escort you to your next destination! Here you will enjoy a guided tour at a local history museum dedicated to Shinjuku’s past and development over time. We will journey from early Japan all the way to modern times to understand how Shinjuku has become one of the busiest and most exciting entertainment districts on earth. Remember to take photos with the impressive to scale replicas at the museum including a merchant warehouse, a train carriage and traditional Japanese home! This is a fantastic place to gain content on the city of Tokyo and one of its most famous areas!
We will then walk to one of Tokyo’s most famous and popular parks to enjoy the tranquillity and nature that this popular destination provides to locals looking to escape the hustle and bustle of the world’s most populated city! A guided tour on the history and development of the park will be provided and you will then enjoy a matcha and traditional Japanese sweet set at the park’s own tea room. Here, ’Your Name’ fans can also enjoy more views of the NTT Docomo Yoyogi Building as featured in the film!
For our next destination, we will head to see a popular building and piece of modern architecture also featured in ’Your Name’! This will be your fourth ’Your Name’ location. It is located in the heart of Shinjuku, and just opposite the bustling Kabukicho district! Here, we will stop to take photos and your guide will show you around the area pointing out the famous attractions such as the Godzilla Head and 3D Cat Billboard! This is also where you can take your lunch break. There is an array of options to choose from, from cafes, restaurants and Conbini, you can pick up a good lunch here!
We will now take a short train journey to Harajuku station from Shinjuku. We will start with Meiji Jingu Shrine. Enjoy a guided tour around this beautiful shrine complex learning about its history and significance. You will also learn about the Japanese tradition of Omikuji (fortunes) and Omamori (lucky charms) in Japan. Next, we will go across to the vibrant and quirky area of Harajuku, known for its kawaii culture, sweet treats and shopping. Your guide will tell you all about how Harajuku shaped modern Japanese society today. You will have free time to shop, eat and take photos.
For our final destination, we will hop back on the train for 3 minutes to reach our fifth and final ’Your Name’ location! We will spend approximately 30 minutes exploring a stylish and modern Art Centre. It is a striking building with a beautiful glass facade and wooden features. This is the location is featured prominently in ’Your Name’, but most notably when Taki and Mitsuha cross paths for the first time in years after trying to search for each other. This emotional scene means this is a must visit and a great final stop for all ’Your Name’ fans!

11:10 | Take a short walk of 10 minutes to our next destination, a history museum on Shinjuku. You will have a guided tour around the Museum and some time to take photos. We will spend approximately 30 minutes here. |
11:50 | From the museum you will walk 15 minutes to your next destination, a famous park in Shinjuku. You will have a guided tour of the Park and enjoy a matcha and wagashi set at the Park’s tea house. We will spend approximately 60 minutes here. |
13:00 | Take a short walk of 15 minutes to the fourth ‘Your Name’ location where your guide will provide an overview of the area, and you can take photos! Your guide will also show you Kabukicho, Shinjuku's lively entertainment centre where you can see the famous Godzilla Head and 3D Cat Billboard. It is now lunch time! You will then enjoy exploring and trying some local food at your leisure on your lunch break. We will spend approximately 90 minutes here. |
14:30 | Board the next available train to our next destination, the bustling area of Harajuku! You will have a guided tour around Meiji Jingu Shrine and then you will go across to the vibrant and quirky area of Harajuku where your guide will also provide a guided tour. You will then have free time to shop, eat and take photos. We will spend approximately 90 minutes here. |
16:00 | Take a short walk of 4 minutes and board the next available train for 3 minutes to the fifth and final ‘Your Name’ location. Take a short walk of 6 minutes to reach our destination where your guide will provide an overview of the area, and you can take photos! We will spend approximately minutes here. |
16:45 | Leave our final destination where we will take the train back to Shinjuku for approximately 20 minutes. |

MEETUP POINT
Outside Shinjuku Station South Gate Baskin ROBBINS @ 09:30am
You will meet your tour guide outside of Shinjuku Station’s South Gate Baskin Robbins. You will recognise the South Gate entrance as it has many ’Lumine 2’ signs across the station entrance building. You can see signs in the left of the second photo above for Baskin Robbins, just past the ’Lumine 2’ sign. You will meet your tour guide outside of the Baskin Robbins ice cream shop directly outside of the station entrance. Please look out for the tour guide with a ’Snow Monkey Resorts’ sign. Once everybody has met, we will enter Shinjuku station together to begin the tour.

OTHER INFORMATION
- This tour involves walking in the outdoors. We recommend that you wear shoes and clothes which are easy to walk in. Please check the weather forecast before you head to the meetup point and prepare an umbrella or rain coat if necessary.
- There will be free time at both Meiji Jingu shrine and Harajuku, and the lunch break for guests to enjoy the locations at their own pace. However, please make sure that you are at the respective meetup points at the time stated by your guide on the day of the tour. If you get lost or need assistance, feel free to call the number which is listed on your tour pass, and our staff will assist you immediately.
- Due to this being a walking tour, it is advised that you do not bring any luggage or large bags with you on the tour. It is advised that you check if your hotel can store your luggage for you until after the tour, or you store your luggage at lockers at a suitable location such as selected train stations with appropriate storage. For example, many stations in Tokyo will have lockers, especially the larger train stations such as Shinjuku, Shibuya and Tokyo.

- What should I bring/wear?
- Please wear clothing and shoes appropriate for the season in which you are taking the tour, and check the weather forecast ahead of time. Guests may wish to bring rain coats or umbrellas on rainy days, or sunscreen to avoid sunburn during the summer months. June through to early September is very hot and humid in Tokyo, so please bare this in mind. Stay hydrated and wear sun hats. You can buy items designed to cool you down in Summer from shops in Tokyo such as portable fans and ice packs. In the winter months, gloves, boots, warm hats, and hand warmers are recommended. Please feel free to bring any other items, such as water or snacks.
- Is lunch included on the tour?
- No. This tour does not include lunch however there will be opportunities to purchase food and drinks during the tour. It is advised you also bring snacks and drinks with you. Due to the locations on this tour, there are not opportunities to visit a restaurant for lunch. Therefore, lunch will be a picnic style after the shrine or you can buy drinks and food throughout the tour at the various small cafes and vendors
