Shin-Fuji Station Area
Lying to the south-west of Mount Fuji, Shin-Fuji Station is a stop on the Tokaido Shinkansen line running from Tokyo to Nagoya, Kyoto and onto Osaka. Enroute, many services stop at Shin-Fuji Station making it a popular stop for visitors wanting to visit the mountain and surrounding destinations. Most accommodation options in the area, and around nearby Fuji Station, are business hotels and are typically reasonably priced. Staying in and around the station places you to the south-west of the mountain and within easy reach of the town of Fujinomiya and the famous tea plantations of Shizuoka. The farms not only produce fantastic tea, they are famous for their views of the mountain set behind manicured rows of tea plants.
